Aims and Objectives of the Course 

• Consideration of the benefits of adopting an analytical approach 
• Consideration of the techniques available and the evidence gained 
• Consideration of the problems that may arise 

Course Content 

• Analytical procedures as a tool to the auditor 
• The requirements of ISA 520 and other ISAs that are likely to be relevant 
• The tools available to the auditor in obtaining evidence 
• Directional testing 
• A discussion on the application of analytical procedures
