Aims and Objectives of the Course 

• To provide a refresher and update to those professionals involved in the accounting and audit of pension schemes 
• To consider the requirements of the Pensions Act 2004 in respect of defined benefit and defined contribution schemes 
• The requirements of the SORP 2002 
• To consider the requirements of Codes of Practice and the impact on accountants and auditors 
• To consider the requirements of guidance issued by the APB in respect of pension scheme audits

• SORP (2002) 
• Codes of Practice 1 and others issued by The Pensions Regulator likely to be of interest to accountants and auditors 
• Practice note 15 revised and Bulletin 2005/5 and comparison to revised Practice note/consultation draft 
• Pensions Act 1995 
• Pensions Act 2004
