Aim of the course 

To send delegates away feeling fully equipped to handle an enquiry and aware of the tricks which HMRC may use to secure a better settlement. 

Who should attend 

Anyone who deals with enquiries from HMRC, whether into business accounts or PAYE compliance. 

Course Content 

  • Reasons why an enquiry is opened, what can be done to avoid an enquiry, how to handle the client/correspondence, whether to meet HMRC - pros and cons of this, precautions to take, how to brief client, where to hold the meeting, how to fight your case, calculation of penalties 
  • How to handle cases of serious fraud 
  • Problem areas regarding particular businesses 
  • What approach to take with HMRC - aggressive is antagonistic but clients expect a strong defence, how to meet clients' expectations and retain him post enquiry

CPD: 3 Hours
FEE: £105 plus VAT or 1 Block Booking Place (from £52 plus VAT)
