What are the course aims and objectives?
This course will consider the problems and pitfall of employment status and look at practical ways of avoiding elephant traps.
Whom does it benefit?
Anyone who advises on employment issues in the tax or HR field.
The course will cover:
An examination of the key tax issues around employment status and why they cause so many difficulties.
An understanding of the major differentiating the employed and self-employed and the tax implications.
A Review of problem areas caused by the IR35 rules and managed service companies and the tax authority's approach.
How to structure to avoid employment status problems and what you use to assist in getting right.
A review of key relevant tax cases e.g. Demibourne, and what they mean in practical terms for our clients.
