Aim of the Course:
This is an introductory one-day course for those with no knowledge of payroll.
The course will provide delegates with a sound knowledge of the principles of PAYE and NI.
Reference is also made to SSP, SMP and Benefits, however these will not be covered in detail.
Who should attend:
This course is ideal for new accountancy trainees with no practical experience.
Course Content:
The course covers the concepts and workings of PAYE, NIC and SSP. Topics include:
- Tax codes and common suffixes
- Explanations of Free Pay, PAYE and NIC
- Tax & NIC Calculations using both tables and by "Logic"!
- The 'double entry' involved
This course involves practical exercises - please bring a calculator.
