Customer Collection/ Delivery Driver/ Courier

Salary: £23,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Recruiting for Thornaby Location

PASS is currently looking to expand its team of Drivers for its Customer Delivery and Collection Service of Test and Measurement Equipment.

The role is based in Thornaby, Teesside and will involve driving predominantly in the North East / Manchester and Leeds areas, with possible trips to Birmingham. You may also be expected to work across the UK, should it be required.

Hours: 45 Hrs per week Monday to Friday – As Required 7 am to approx. 4:30 pm / 5pm as the role requires.

Overtime is not usually required and is unpaid. You will be expected to work reasonable hours in excess of your normal hours should it be required. You’ll generally be home every night.

Benefits: Annual Bonus, 22 days holiday increasing to 25 after 5 years’ service

  • Driving our vehicles and delivering great service, whether you’re driving or helping to assist our customers, load and unload vehicles.
  • Follow scheduled delivery routes, driving safely and responsibly. Bad driving gives us a bad name
  • Keeping the customer up to date by phoning ahead within allocated timescales, if you’re running late to apologise and let the customer know when you’ll be there
  • Being friendly and helpful from the moment you arrive
  • Following the correct procedures with every delivery
  • Ensure accuracy with every item collected or delivered
  • Take care of the customer’s test equipment as its expensive and fragile.
  • Not just keeping your vehicle clean but also tidy and well cared for. Our vehicles are expensive so our drivers take real care of them
  • Keep your vehicle refuelled, maintained and operational, ready for the next run
  • Making sure you carefully carry out all checks and procedures from pre-delivery to post-delivery

You’ll need to be a great ‘people person, committed to giving our customers great service every day. You must have held a full driving licence for at least 5 years.

You must also have no more than 3 points on your licence.

Web Developer

Salary: £28,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Recruiting for Thornaby Location

PASS is currently looking to expand its online team with an experienced website developer.

The Main Duties Will Include:

To assist the Senior Web Developer in the planning and execution of all web-based projects and maintenance.

The role is to help in the maintenance and building of the company’s portfolio of websites; develop existing and new sites; improve and add features; aid in the maintenance of web servers; bug fixes, troubleshooting and updates; Frontend development.

You will be up to date with the latest coding standards and be able to use your own initiative to carry out work on web-based projects.

This role supports the development cycle of both WordPress and Magento eCommerce sites.

You will work closely with the marketing and software development teams contributing to development processes and helping to ensure that we are building high-quality sites using the latest technologies.

You will help to analyse and design solutions to complex business requirements, developing web-service-based integrations. The role will also include capturing requirements and documentation.

This is a rewarding role within a busy team.

Desired Skills:

Able to adhere to a set of coding standards.

Write good quality clean code.

A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of front-end development, as well as being a proficient PHP programmer. Good knowledge of responsive development is required.

As part of your role, you will be working with WordPress, Magento, Laravel. Should you not have experience with these technologies a good understanding of MVC frameworks and design patterns will be useful.

Experience of Linux operating system, web servers, primarily Nginx, would be advantageous.

Familiarity with GIT version control will also be a plus.

Key Knowledge:

PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL

Desired Knowledge:

Linux, Magento, WordPress, Laravel, MVC Frameworks, Design Patterns, Git, Nginx, LESS

Qualifications & Experience

Product Content Writer (English)

With a passionate team, the product range is growing at a rapid pace. Therefore, we are looking for a talented and dedicated Product Content Writer to join the team and contribute to our ongoing success.

The Role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for creating new product content for our eCommerce websites. You will be researching, creating and editing a variety of product content, highlighting unique selling points and features to produce SEO friendly product descriptions that will ultimately sell products.

You will be working closely with the Online Marketing Manager, Product and Purchasing team to produce comprehensive product listings on several websites.

You will have a good command of English, strong copywriter capability and accurate data inputting skills. Your work will help to improve our customer experience, the website traffic and conversions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a variety of on-brand website content from information that you have gathered from manufacturer brochures, technical spec sheets, manufacturers and other reliable sources from internet research.
• Produce accurate product descriptions that engage and inform the reader.
• Ensure that all content is optimised for search engines.
• Writing META data and descriptions.
• Writing brand page content
• Product Management – this includes;
– Adding new lines and seasonal offers and ranges.
– Removing discontinued products and collections.
– Promotion updates
– Existing product updates and edits where applicable

Skills and Experience Required

Must have:

The ability to consume large amounts of technical and unfamiliar information and use it to write cohesive, accurate product descriptions.

• Excellent attention to detail is imperative.
• A very good understanding and working knowledge of websites and SEO.

Electrical/Electronic Calibration Laboratory Technician

PASS Ltd are looking for Experienced Electrical/Electronic Calibration Laboratory Technicians to join our UKAS Accredited Laboratory.

If you are an “A” Player who can demonstrate self-motivation, a positive attitude and the ability to work within a busy team environment, we would really like you to join us and play a part in our growing success.

Reporting to the Calibration and Service Manager, you will be working as part of a large team and you will be responsible for carrying out electrical and electronic calibrations within one of our laboratories in Thornaby.

Primary Job Role

  • Calibrating electronic and electrical instruments within agreed parameters, recording and evaluating all essential data, reporting and providing necessary feedback.
  • Coordinate with the Laboratory Manager to expedite the completion of all work and co-operate with other team members ensuring that customers turnaround times and targets are met.
  • Constantly review current methods and validation techniques and make the necessary recommendation of new methods to the Laboratory Manager.
  • Liaising with the calibration administration department.
  • Working in a team as well as individually.

Calibration Engineer Requirements:

  • A proven Electronic/Electrical background with a relevant qualification is essential for this role, e.g. HNC I HND Electronics Qualification.
  • Knowledge of the use of test equipment including; DMM, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analysers, Temperature Calibrators, PAT Testers etc. with the ability to fault find.
  • Calibration experience within a UKAS laboratory would be advantageous.
  • Flexible approach to workable to travel to customer sites when required.
  • Hold a full driving licence.
  • Take pride in your work.
  • Adaptable with a keen eye for detail.

Electrical Tutor

Salary: £250 per day
Job Type: Sub Contractor

Regional Roles Available for South East and Northern Areas

We are currently seeking experienced qualified Electrical Tutors/A1 Assessors for our very busy venues in both the South and Northern areas of England.

You will be delivering a range of courses including City & Guilds Accredited and PASS Accredited programmes covering the following subjects:

  • 18th Edition
  • PAT Testing
  • Initial Verification Test and Inspection
  • Periodic Test and Inspection
  • Part P

The role will include travel and possibly overnight stays, so a full clean driving licence is also be required.

Qualifications required for the role:

  • PTTLS
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 (Wiring Regulations)
  • City & Guilds 2377-22 (PAT)
  • City & Guilds 2393-10 (Building Regulations)
  • Logic Part P City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) – would be an advantage.

Interviews will be held at our Stockton on Tees Training Centre.
