This City & Guilds 2921 34 Level 3 Award equips qualified electricians with the technical knowledge to install and maintain domestic and small commercial EV charging systems. Designed for practising professionals, the course covers essential safety regulations, installation methods, and inspection
routines aligned with current UK standards.
Ideal for electricians aiming to expand into the rapidly growing EV charging market, the course ensures compliance with BS 7671 and the IET Code of Practice. Successful completion also demonstrates competence to employers and clients, supporting professional credibility and access to new opportunities.
Keeping pace with the rise of electric vehicles means mastering installation standards and smart features of modern EV charging systems. This course provides electricians with up-to-date knowledge of wiring, earthing, risk assessments, and the integration of EV chargers into prosumer systems like vehicle-to-grid.
We deliver expert-led training that balances classroom instruction with scenario-based practical guidance, preparing you for real-world challenges. By the end of the two-day programme, you’ll be ready to install, test, and hand over EV charging installations safely and effectively.
Delivered over two days, the City & Guilds 2921-34 EV Course will teach you how to design, install, and maintain electric vehicle supply equipment and associated circuits in domestic and small commercial settings.
Lessons blend real-world installation scenarios with mock commissioning and testing exercises.
At the end of the course, you will be assessed via two open-book exams:
Starting September 2024, 2921 34 replaces the older 2921 31 qualification, and 2921 31 will no longer be available after October 2024.
Practicing electricians, site managers, technical advisors, and small commercial installers will benefit most. It’s also valued by contractors working with EV charger networks.
Course materials (e.g. workbooks) are provided in the fee. However, IET reference books are NOT included.
We strongly recommend purchasing the following books as they will be referred to throughout the course and during the open-book exams:
