By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

How will I be assessed?

At the end of the course, you will sit a theory and practical exam.

What qualification will I gain?

Upon completing the course and passing the theory and practical assessments, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competency accredited by Radiodetection and a Certificate of Attendance accredited by PASS Ltd.

We recommend that individuals renew this qualification every three years.

Materials & Equipment

Which course materials are provided?

All necessary CAT and Genny equipment (Radiodetection C.A.T.4 series) is provided during the training; however, participants are welcome to bring their own CAT and Genny for use on the course. 

Delegates will also receive comprehensive course notes and access to practical resources to support their learning.

This course is designed for contractors or those involved in excavation work, serving the utilities, construction, transportation, communications, and petrochemical sectors. 

Entry Requirements

The CAT & Genny Operator Course is open to anyone working in construction, utilities, or maintenance roles who requires basic competency in underground service detection. No formal electrical qualifications are needed, but a reasonable level of site experience is recommended.

All attendees must be aged 18 or older and have a good command of written and spoken English.
