What will the City & Guilds 2382-22 course cover?

Entry Requirements

Prerequisites

You don’t need formal qualifications to take the City & Guilds 2382-22 online course, but you’ll benefit most if you already have:

  • Practical experience in electrical installation or maintenance
  • Prior trade qualifications or site-based knowledge
  • An understanding of basic electrical principles

This course is best suited to qualified and trainee electricians. However, it is also open to building service engineers, contract supervisors, and others who need an understanding of current wiring regulations. All candidates must be 18 years or older to enrol.

How will I be assessed?

To receive a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, you must pass City & Guilds’ multiple-choice, open-book exam. You will have access to an unmarked copy of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations throughout the test, which has to be taken in person at one of our approved training centres located in:

Please note that to sit the exam, you must bring photographic ID such as a passport or driving licence.

What qualification will I gain?

Upon passing the exam, you will be awarded a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in 18th Edition Regulations. This qualification is often a minimum requirement for working as a qualified electrician in the UK, especially in regulated environments or on larger projects.
