Is this course right for me?

There are no official qualification requirements for enrolling in the 2391-52 Combine Inspection Course. However, this programme is designed for practising electricians with a solid understanding of electrical installation and inspection. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you meet the following criteria before registering:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical science and principles
  • A current qualification in the latest wiring regulations
  • 2+ years inspecting and testing as a practising electrician
  • Experience working with live boards
  • An understanding of 3-phase systems

What does the City & Guilds 2391 52 qualification enable me to do?

Do I need specific qualifications before attending?

Officially no. However, this course is designed for practising electricians with ideally at least 2 years’ experience in electrical inspection and testing, experience working with live boards, and a solid understanding of electrical science, principles, and three-phase systems. It is also recommended that candidates hold an up-to-date qualification in the current wiring regulations. 

All candidates must be over 18 and have a good command of written and spoken English. 

What assessments are included?

Entries for the following are included in the cost of this course: 

  • A 40-question, multiple-choice, open-book exam (1hr 20mins)
  • A short-answer test (1hr)
  • A practical assessment (2hrs)
Can this course lead to other qualifications?

Yes, it prepares you for progression to City & Guilds Level 4 in Design and Verification (2396) and further supervisor or specialist roles.

Does the course include practical learning?

Theory is delivered in-class, complemented by practical assessments. However, full practical skills may require supplementary practice depending on provider.

If I lack experience, what should I do?

We recommend completing the C&G 2392-10 Level 2 Fundamentals and Initial Verification Course to build confidence before tackling the Level 3 course.
